RSS3’s ChatGPT Plugin Gets OpenAI Approval, Says It’s Committed To Solving Concerns About AI

RSS3 wants to support everyone’s involvement in the evolving artificial intelligence space, the information dissemination protocol said as its ChatGPT plugin gets official approval from OpenAI. This makes it the first Web3-oriented plugin that consolidates data from multiple blockchains for AI platforms.

The Web3 user activity plugin by RSS3, which is now available at the OpenAI plugin store, allows users to access 380 million items indexed from the open web, RSS3 said.

At RSS3, we want to foster AI innovation that’s accessible to everyone whether you are a consumer, model trainer, data contributor or node operator…our goal is to ensure that everyone can benefit from the advancements and opportunities presented by AI and the Open Web, RSS3 told Permaweb News in an interview, adding that it had been working with AI before “the whole ChatGPT hype”.

ChatGPT, created by OpenAI, is a natural language processing tool driven by AI technology that allows you to have human-like conversations with chatbots. The language model can answer questions and assist with tasks. ChatGPT works through its Generative Pre-trained Transformer which uses specialised algorithms to find patterns within data sequences. The transformer pulls from a significant amount of data to formulate a response.

RSS3 uses Unified Metadata Schemas to standardise data and render decentralised data from its network for AI processing. This process allows streamlined AI training experience with low code requirement and also allows the RSS3 team to work efficiently on AI-related developments.

These valuable decentralised data encompass a wide range of sources that can serve as very valuable data for AI training. As we work to create new and innovative products, we take advantage of the vast amount of decentralised data we indexed, which provides us with ample resources to train our AI models, RSS3 said.

The RSS3’s network spans multiple blockchains including Ethereum, BNB, Polygon and Arbitrum and decentralised networks such as Lens protocol, Farcaster and Mastodon. This will help users gain a better understanding of activities in Web3, RSS3 said.

For many innovators and developers, AI is the technology for the future and could potentially redefine how things are done. Despite concerns by some innovators and individuals, including Elon Musk, about AI early this year, the technology has been infused in web design, code writing, music and video creation. Some people have called for the establishment of an international organisation to regulate AI.

RSS3 told Permaweb News that it was aware of the challenges and ethical concerns associated with AI, naming some of the concerns as manual labelling processes, opaque data acquisition and training processes. However, it maintained that the challenges should not hinder the advancement of AI innovation in a digital era, adding that it was committed to addressing these issues within the environment of the Open web.

By utilising the open web environment, we make sure the data acquisition is transparent. This alone would address many issues including privacy, accountability, reward distribution, Henry Wang, the chief technology officer at RSS3 was quoted to have said.

As the tech world and regulators try to figure out what to do about the growing influence of AI and its potentials, RSS3 will continue to explore opportunities locked in the novel technology. It wants players in traditional tech industries to explore the Web3 sector using its technology.

By leveraging the RSS3 Network, they can gain valuable insights into their target audience and customise their products and services accordingly. We believe that bridging the gap between traditional industries and Web3 will create new opportunities and stimulate innovation in different sectors, the Network said.
