Have you noticed that green elephant in the Arweave & AO community recently? Yes, that cool and cute green elephant is called Dumdum, and it has become the main character of various memes in the community. Moreover, a game revolving around Dumdum has been launched—Pet or Rekt, where you can "pet" Dumdum to earn Potential Airdrop, also known as "Pet to Earn."
The game has been online for 9 days and has already attracted over 3,200 registered addresses, with more than 25,000 "pets" of Dumdum.
Pet or Rekt is released by the AO gaming platform Permaverse. It's a fully on-chain 3D interactive game where users can earn DumDumPoints (DDP) by "pet" Dumdum. Additionally, the game includes a chat room where players can interact in real-time.
Usage of Points (DDP)
DDP can be used to decide Dumdum's outfits through voting for hats, eyes, clothes, and balloon toy styles. The more DDP you have, the greater your voting power.
Furthermore, DDP can also be exchanged for a 1:1 future Airdrop of $DUM. $DUM is the native token of the Permaverse platform and will be used to purchase avatars, skins, accessories, in-game assets, and to participate in platform events. $DUM has not yet TGE and can currently only be earned by petting Dumdum to accumulate DDP.
Rules for Earning Points (DDP)
Users can earn DDP by clicking on Dumdum, completing a "pet". Note that players can only "pet" once every 24 hours. If they manage to "pet" Dumdum every 24 hours consistently, they achieve a "pet streak" and earn more DDP.
Additionally, players can earn more DDP by staking $AOCRED (AO Testnet Token) in Pet or Rekt. The formula is: DDP = 200 + (current streak 4) + (staked $AOCRED 0.5)
It's important to note that the DDP earned from staking $AOCRED is capped and cannot exceed "current streak * 4" DDP. Here’s an example:
If your streak count is 10 and you staked 10,000 $AOCRED, the extra staked DDP is capped at 200 + 10 4 = 240 (instead of 10,000 0.5 = 5000). Thus, you would earn a total of 480 DDP.
Moreover, you can earn DDP by referring new users. If these new users register and fill in your wallet address, you will earn 10% of their DDP as a reward.
How to Play the Game?
Step 1: Register for an Arconnect Wallet
Download the Arconnect wallet here: https://www.arconnect.io/.
Step 2: Verify Your Wallet’s Authenticity
Due to recent bot attacks, the project has introduced the Vouch protocol, binding the Arconnect wallet to an X account to reduce bot addresses.
Arconnect wallet address must be verified before registering for the game. Verification link: https://vouch-twitter.g8way.io/
Step 3: Register for the Game Account
Log in to the game page: https://dumdum.g8way.io/ and complete the registration.
Step 4: "Pet" Your Dumdum
When you see a screen full of confetti accompanied by a cheerful "Happy, Happy, Happy..." sound, it means you have completed a "pet".
Click on the leaderboard to see your DDP and rank in real-time.
Additional Gameplay: Enter Permaverse
Pet or Rekt is a 3D game. When you click "Enter Permaverse", your Dumdum will enter a new 3D scene where it can move freely and encounter other Dumdums. Interestingly, the scene switches between day and night modes based on your local time.
This is a daytime scene, with Dumdum holding a balloon on the corridor.
This is the evening scene, where the light hasn't completely faded. It will get darker later.
That's all for the tutorial, and I hope it helps. After all this writing, Dumdum needs to daydream by the shore for a bit.
Final Thoughts
The game Pet or Rekt may seem mindless and chill, but it's actually an attention grabber. Its clever "streak" mechanism makes players reluctant to miss the chance to gain extra DDP, with higher combo counts being more significant. If you also stake $AOCRED, your attention will be further captured.
Moreover, the Dumdum trend is spreading in the Arweave & AO community. With the Dumdum game now in place, will there be more Dumdum applications in the future? Stop speculating— I am Dumdum, Dumdum is everyone. Join the Dumdum cheer now!
