NFT, Game Project Joins Arweave Ecosystem To Boost Growth

MetaOasis, a metaverse platform where users can create avatars, purchase land as well and play games within its virtual world has as announced plans to join the Arweave ecosystem.

It said it would be using Arweave’s decentralised storage network to archive non-fungible token data and games data permanently.

Before joining Arweave, MetaOasis used NFTs to represent in-game assets as identifiers on the blockchain while it used private servers to store actual assets.

“Now, the in-game assets, including the image files and metadata, will be stored permanently on a fully decentralized protocol. MetaOasis users will have cryptographic guarantees that their core game assets will be stored and accessible on Arweave,” MetaOasis stated.

Arweave not only offers permanent storage of data, it does it at a price that is cheaper compared to Web2 storage platforms and many Web3 based storage networks. MetaOasis plans to release a mobile version and the development of key features could see its need for an effective data storage platform grow.

“MetaOasis’s continued growth will be bolstered by utilizing Arweave and delivering the power of permanent on-chain data to its community,” MetaOasis stated.

The project further added that joining the Arweave ecosystem, will help contribute to the vision of composability and collaboration between developers which would encourage building more immersive gameplay experiences.
