Q1: Recently, Dumdumz NFT has become the most prominent NFT within the AO ecosystem. Could you share with us the inspiration behind the creation of Dumdumz?

When I first saw DumDum, I thought, "What a fun mascot for AO," but I felt the artwork needed an overhaul. We needed to create a friendlier image for the green elephant. That was the motivation behind creating Dumdumz. I wanted to make an NFT collection that is fun, silly, cute and that showcases the more fun and casual side of crypto.

Q2: Why did Dumdumz NFT choose to be issued as an atomic asset on the AO platform? And in your view, what is the biggest challenge currently facing the entire NFT space?

The biggest factor was due to permanence of atomic assets. Once DumDumz was created, it is here forever, and people will always retain ownership of their DumDumz.

I think the biggest challenges for NFTs in the crypto space that I have seen are a few things:

• Building communities that are more friendly, fun, and have a family-style atmosphere;

• Creating high-quality, thoughtfully crafted NFT products (as opposed to quick AI-generated art);

• A dedicated team that is there for the long haul and adds value to their NFT project, not just simply selling out as soon as possible and then abandoning their project.

Q3: What do you believe is the biggest challenge currently facing Arweave and the AO ecosystem?

I think AO and Arweave are fantastic! But I would say it is hard for mass adoption due to the barriers of entry. AO/Arweave are very focused on the technicals, which might make it challenging for the average crypto user to understand how to join and become part of the ecosystem. One of the reasons I chose DumDumz and the theme we created is to help onboard more users to AO and give them a welcoming vibe with the silly green elephant.

I also plan to create more user-friendly video tutorials to explain how to onboard onto AO. My YouTube channel has been running for a while now, and my goal has always been: “How can I simplify things in crypto enough that I can explain it to my child or my 57-year-old mother?” I will continue with that thought process in anything I create in the future to ensure that no users who wish to join and understand are barred from entry.

Q4: What are your thoughts on the future roadmap of Dumdumz and how NFTs can be further empowered?

We’re currently building a roadmap that has yet to be released. Along with that, we have many solid partnerships coming up that will be announced shortly. We plan to be here for a long time and are very excited to show people what we have in store for the future..

Q5: Dumdumz is undoubtedly a success within the AO ecosystem. What do you think is the secret behind Dumdumz's success?

I believe there are many factors involved, but I think having a great community plays a major role in all of this. I can’t even begin to say how many NFT projects I have walked into and have had a negative experience with. In fact, I started a Twitter series called “Diary of a Founder” for many reasons, one of which was to highlight how poorly some of these communities treat newcomers or how unpleasant their overall atmosphere can be. I believe this needs to change in the space, and I hope DumDumz can be a flagship in driving that change.

Q1: How did you become familiar with and get to know the Arweave ecosystem?

I became aware of Arweave through my husband, actually. He showed me how unique this ecosystem is and the possibilities it holds. Ironically, I was the one who originally introduced my husband to cryptocurrency many years ago, but now he is the one who got me into this amazing ecosystem, and I am very thankful for that.

Our team has always been driven by a passion for exploring the unknown and a strong desire for technological innovation, rather than opting for the “easy” path. Among the many fields of blockchain and decentralized technologies, Arweave deeply attracted us with its unique permanent storage solution and ever-evolving ecosystem. Despite encountering some challenges with AO on testnet, we were eager to overcome these difficulties. As the Web3 industry continues to evolve, it will inevitably attract new users to the field. However, these newcomers might feel overwhelmed by the diverse range of projects and individuals within the field. Therefore, I strongly recommend that new users conduct thorough research before diving in. They should understand the project's background, the strength of the team, the technical architecture, the application scenarios, and the future development plans. The essence of Web3 lies in decentralization and community governance, so a transparent and welcoming community is an invaluable resource for newcomers. So I would tell them to stay vigilant, but keep a curious and exploratory mindset, and enjoy everything Web3 has to offer!

Yes, I had heard about PermaDAO even before creating DumDumz. I am based in the USA, so there’s a language barrier with the PermaDAO community, but I’ve come across some excellent content produced by PermaDAO! We’re always open to healthy collaborations!
