Dojima Launches Testnet, Targets Arweave, Bitcoin, Ethereum Developers
Dojima Network, a protocol that enables developers to build applications across chains, has launched testnet and announced its integration with major blockchains in Web3. This includes Arweave, Bitcoin, Ethereum and Solana, the firm said at an unveiling event on Saturday witnessed by 4,000 students of the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay.
The firm which was founded in 2020 by Akhil Reddy and Bhagath Reddy and was incubated by Arweave’s Web Foundry in 2021, is testing its tool which connects blockchains and removes impediments developers face when accessing resources on other blockchains as they build applications.

Arweave, one of the blockchains Dojima Network is incorporating into its cross-chain infrastructure, would be providing data transfer and storage features.
Dojima and Arweave will work hand in glove to provide a decentralised permanent data storage for all the data and information on the network and ensure that these data can be retrieved when required, Dojima Network said in a news release.
What made the Solana chain attractive to developers is its scalability, user-friendly attributes and low gas fees, Dojima said. This may have influenced its move to integrate the blockchain and enhance interoperability functions for developers. Transactions to and from Solana are facilitated by a smart contract deployed on the chain using Anchor framework.
Dojima also added parameters that play different roles such as helping the network identify Solana transactions from the pool of transactions; vault keys to filter transactions and tell what kind of transactions are being requested. Data is further processed by Naranda, a block scanner by Dojima which reads transactions from Solana nodes and submits to the Hermes Chain which processes it.
Hermes also plays a role in how Dojima interacts with the Bitcoin blockchain.
The Hermes layer is built on top of Cosmos SDK and tendermint, while the Dojima chain layer is the middle ground layer where developers can deploy DApps and access the Hermes layer to get connected to all other independent chains including the Bitcoin blockchain, Dojima also said.
The protocol integrated the Polkadot blockchain while providing the balance and system pallets solution to the problems associated with DOT chain transactions which includes inability to add message strings to transactions.
“The balance pallet which is balances::transfer allows the user to transfer DOT tokens and the system pallet which is system::remark allows the user to add any message string,” the protocol explained, adding that the other challenge which emerges from the requirement that user must make two transactions to the chains was solved by batching any number of pallet transactions in one transaction.
On the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) integration, Dojima said EVM compiles various types of smart contract code into bytecode which is a standard format that is readable by the Ethereum network. With this, developers can deploy the same code on the Dojima Network without the need for costly and time-consuming contract audits.
EVM compatibility stands out as one of the most crucial for achieving user adoption and expanding the developer community, hence why Dojima Network is integrating the Ethereum EVM protocol into its ecosystem, the Protocol said.
The success of the testnet will impact its mainnet launch in 2023. However, Akhil Reddy said at an AMA with Ruby that there are plans to release a series of tools to aid onboarding and deployment of applications on Dojima.
