Community Labs has launched a StarterKit that contains tools developers need to build applications on the Arweave network fast, without stress and being distracted from innovation.
Developers seeking to build decentralising applications on the Arweave protocol can now do it faster following the unveiling of StarterKit by Arweave-centric software development company Community Labs.
“Building an app on Arweave is now as simple as forking this repo” Community Labs CEO stated.
Arweave StarterKit is a command line interface tool that is made up of NextJS framework for building web applications, Shadcn UI which is for user interface design and ArweaveKit which is an existing invention by Community Labs that allows the exploration of the Arweave Network.

Web application are usually a combination of different frameworks, computations as well as designs to make a working whole. Building a decentralised application could be an onerous task and time intensive. What Arweave StarterKit does could be likened to an already made foundation or a template which has core features.
“This means you can dedicate more time to crafting the unique aspects of your application, perfect for rapid prototyping of ideas, workshop demonstrations and hackathon crunch times,” Community Labs stated while adding that Arweave StarterKit should be used due to it’s simplicity and efficiency.
Arweave StarterKit is made up of features that developers can use to build functions for the their dApps. They include Navbar which helps with integrating with Arweave wallet NFT; Landing Page which developers can use to upload images and add metadata that will be posted to Arweave as Atomic NFTs. Other features are Atomic assets and contracts which can be used to make alterations to metadata and transfer ownership. View Page, which is augmented with Stamps, allows assets and metadata to be showcased.
Developers can begin using the StarterKit by running a command in the terminal; choosing their preferred package manager and executing the command to kick off the finish.
“The true strength of this starter kit lies in its modularity. Simply interchange the core asset from image to music and transform an image sharing application to a music hub. Or swap in for videos to create a streaming service,” Community Labs said.
Building on a blockchain one is not familiar with could be frustrating to many. Onboarding new developers into the Arweave ecosystem is one of the goals of Community Labs and tools like the StarterKit could help the company achieve its goal.
