Gameplay Overview

Aolotto's gameplay is similar to traditional lottery games like Pick3. Players choose a 3-digit number from 0 to 9, set a bet amount (ranging from $1 to $100), and place the bet using $wUSDC.

The Aolotto protocol uses the HMAC algorithm to randomly generate a 3-digit "lucky number" (ranging from 000 to 999). Players whose bet exactly matches the lucky number win and take home 50% of the prize pool for that round. If no bets match the lucky number, the last bettor of that round becomes the sole winner.

At this point, you may be wondering: Isn't this just a game of luck? Where’s the so-called "best betting strategy"?

This is where Aolotto’s core Bet2Mint mechanism comes into play. As the name suggests, players can mint $ALT through their betting actions. Therefore, every participant not only has the chance to win the grand prize but can also mint $ALT.

Upgraded Bet2Mint Mechanism

To understand how to maximize $ALT minting, you need to first understand the token issuance mechanism — the upgraded Bet2Mint mechanism. The minting reward for a single bet is calculated as follows:

Minting reward per bet ($ALT) = (Current Round Minting Cap - Minted Amount) Minting speed Bet amount * Reward tier coefficient

Where:

Minting cap per round = (Maximum Supply 0.9 - Total Circulating Supply) 0.002
Minting speed = 1 - Total Circulating Supply / Maximum Supply
Reward tier coefficient is based on bet amount and divided into 4 tiers (L1-L4):
- L1: Bet amount between $1-9, reward coefficient = 0.0001
- L2: Bet amount between $10-49, reward coefficient = 0.0003
- L3: Bet amount between $50-99, reward coefficient = 0.0006
- L4: Bet amount of $100, reward coefficient = 0.001

In simple terms: The earlier a player places a bet, the more $ALT tokens they can mint. The greater the bet amount, the higher the minting reward.

The new Bet2Mint mechanism also introduces the Gap-Reward. If no one places a bet after a player, the protocol distributes $ALT Gap-Rewards to the last bettor every 10 minutes.

In the example above, the highlighted player is the last bettor and has already received 22 Gap-Rewards, totaling 127.4 $ALT. If no other bets are placed, they will continue to receive $ALT (for detailed rules, see this article).

Additionally, Aolotto features a faucet reward system where players can obtain ALTb (minting buff) through the Discord channel. Holding ALTb grants extra $ALT rewards when placing bets, and the earlier you claim ALTb, the greater the bonus it provides.

Best Betting Strategy

Now that you understand Aolotto’s gameplay and mechanics, here’s a summary of the best betting strategy:

Participate early in each round to maximize your $ALT minting rewards. If possible, increase your bet amount to earn even more tokens.
For mid- to late-stage participants, place the minimum bet ($1) to position yourself as the last bettor and earn Gap-Rewards.
As the round nears its end, consider placing a small bet to become the last bettor and claim the final prize if no one wins. (This strategy is ineffective if all 1000 numbers are already chosen.)
Always obtain ALTb before placing your bet. This ensures that you will receive extra $ALT rewards, regardless of when you bet.

Additionally, diversifying your bets or other strategies may be useful in specific situations, but these strategies are beyond the scope of this article.

In summary, from a prize-winning perspective, each bet has a 1/1000 chance of winning. However, your odds increase significantly if you become the last bettor (assuming not all 1000 numbers are selected). From a $ALT minting perspective, it’s best to claim ALTb early, participate early, and increase your bet to compete for the last bettor position.

Hold $ALT for Platform Dividends

What can you do with the minted $ALT? According to the whitepaper, $ALT holders will receive 20% of the Aolotto's sales growth as dividends (sales are based on the total amount bet by players).
