Irys (formerly Bundlr) is a layer2 gateway for Arweave, allowing developers to upload data to the Arweave network using its SDK easily. Unfortunately, Irys is set to undergo a disruptive network fork.

Sam stated that Irys's fork might be driven by greed, but this will jeopardize data permanence. Users trust Irys to upload their data to Arweave, but Irys may terminate data uploads at any time, and ARIO will be removed from the trusted nodes of the main Arweave gateway.

Simultaneously, Sam suggests that developers migrate to nodes provided by ARIO and everVision.
