Mounting Arweave to the Local Desktop Using 4EVERLAND Bucket and MountainDuck

Imagine you have a disk on your computer that automatically syncs files to Arweave. There is no need to buy a separate hard disk, just a simple configuration and you have a cloud storage system just like any other C or D drive. You can add, copy, delete and open these files stored on Arweave with any application just as you would on a local disk.

Quick introduction

How to start

Please note this is an advanced tutorial, please ensure you have read the tutorial on using Cyberduck before, this may help you to understand the tutorial better.

Basically, the same as configuring cyberduck, you first need to configure an s3 service in MountainDuck.

Configuring your Bucket

Once you have finished configuring your content, you will see that your files on BUCKET have been synced out to your local disk.

In order to sync files to Arweave in real time, you need to select the Bucket you want to sync to Arweave and click ‘Sync to AR’ so that all files from that Bucket will be automatically synced to Arweave.

Afterwards you will find that the status of the file is ‘AR Status Synced’

Open this file and the AR Hash that appears indicates that the file has been uploaded successfully.

Try it on your local disk

In the same way, you can manage your BUCKET via the File Manager.

File ticking: which automatically downloads all the files.

Online synchronization: which downloads the cache only when the file is opened.

The advantage of this is that you don’t have to download the files locally and you can use them anywhere, anytime. Of course you can also right-click to download or copy directly to your local disk and work with the files on BUCKET just as you do with local files.
